Beautiful woman smiling
The focus of cosmetic dentistry is to improve the look of your teeth. This process can include both extensive and simple steps. Having cosmetic procedures done to improve the look of a smile has skyrocketed in popularity over the past few decades, and that’s because its value is noteworthy. At Gregory J. Gorman, DMD, we provide a range of esthetic services that are specifically aimed at improving the appearance of your teeth giving you a beautiful smile. Ask us what we can do to give you the look you want, it may be faster and easier than you think.

Teeth Whitening

Having your teeth whitened is one of the easiest and fastest ways to make a dramatic change in the look of your smile. Many patients have tried purchasing treatments at the store, but those products can’t match the prescription strength of our products or the controlled application performed by Dr. Gregory J. Gorman, DMD. Professional teeth whitening treatment will whiten, brighten, and take years off the look of your teeth.

Teeth naturally darken through regular use. There are some habits that elevate this staining, such as consuming dark colored drinks and sauces or smoking tobacco products, but teeth also darken because we use them a lot. Just as white towels or sheets can eventually begin to look tinged with age, so do our teeth. Brightening them gives a fresher, cleaner and even younger appearance.

Porcelain Crowns

We often think of using a dental crown to strengthen a weakened tooth, but they can also be used to hide damage or to change the shape and size of a tooth. A dental crown is a customized tooth-shaped cap, we can adjust its coloring and size to fit your needs. This means that if you have a tooth that is chipped, fractured, discolored or uneven, we can hide it and give you a perfected outer layer with a dental crown. Some patients choose to have all of their most visible teeth crowned, meaning their most visible teeth appear to be perfectly straight, even and without gaps. Dental crowns are applied over just two office visits, it’s that simple.

Dental Veneers

Dental veneers use the same porcelain or ceramic material of a dental crown, but instead of entirely encasing the tooth, they are applied to just the front face of the tooth. Having a dental veneer placed is a more conservative treatment than a dental crown. Some patients prefer them because they don’t require the same level of trimming of the natural tooth as crowns.

A dental veneer is a very thin porcelain shell that we can permanently bond to the face of a tooth. We use dental veneers to give your most visible teeth a perfect appearance. Veneers can be customized to fit your needs, meaning we can help teeth appear more even, lengthen them or shorten them, even widen them to fill gaps, and improve their color and shape. The end result is a perfect looking tooth, or teeth.

Dental Bonding

Not all cosmetic procedures are expensive, there are treatments we can perform that are easier on the pocketbook. Dental bonding does not use customized porcelain, just a professional level of dental artistry. Instead of applying a porcelain shell or cap, dental bonding is done using a composite quartz and resin filling material that is then shaped and molded to make simple repairs to your teeth.

Using the same filling material we use to fill cavities, we can use it to fix chips, fractures, fill gaps, and resurface the face of your teeth. Dental bonding takes a skilled eye and great precision. Some patients may prefer this treatment because it is a less-invasive and more cost-effective solution.
